What is Promise Project?
Started for us by a church in Florida, Promise Project is the sponsorship program for the children and youth at Casa Hogar. Now, other churches in the U.S. and people from México have joined in the effort. Promise Project is a way by which you can partner with Casa Hogar by committing to sponsor and pray for a child or teen. You can encourage your sponsored child through letters, postcards, pictures, and maybe even a visit to our lovely Acapulco
Why was Promise Project initiated? Promise Project is a way to partner with Casa Hogar, a way to be practically involved in this important ministry, a way to lift the burden of the expense it takes to run a Home and provide for the children. Because of a decline in the economy and rising education and tuition costs, each child at Casa Hogar ideally needs 9-10 sponsors. However, most only have 2-3, and some have only 1 sponsor. Many of the newest children have no sponsors.
How much does it cost to sponsor a child or teen? Each sponsor gives $30 per month. This money is tax deductible.
What is the money used for? The Promise Project channels all contributions directly to the Casa Hogar. It is a voluntary effort that operates strictly on donated time and resources. You can be assured that 100% of the money given through Promise Project goes directly to support children. The money is used for things such as tuition, school supplies and uniforms, food, clothing, transportation, and any necessary medical expenses.

Contact is very important to the kids. They need to feel loved, to know that someone is thinking of them. First, tell them a bit about you- it could be anything about you-, your interests, your family members, what's new... Anything that helps them get to know you. Also, the kids love to get a photo of their sponsor and family. Later on, consider a quick note telling them what's new with your family, or just to say that you are praying for them. You can write as often as you chose, and we of course will translate it. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
How can I Donate or send my Child a gift? Birthday gifts and Christmas gifts are greatly apprecited. Beyond the value of the gift, the child knows that someone cared enough to send something to them- not just to the orphanage in general, but specifically chose to send something to them.
All donations, material or monetary, can be sent to Casa Hogar at the following address: Casa Hogar del Niño de Acapulco P.O. Box D-33 Succ. Centro de Convenciónes Acapulco, Gro. 39850 MEXICO
